Another print for a double feature in the Brew & View series at The Palace Theatre coming up next month. Really pleased with this one. Five colors...lighter brown, darker brown, metallic gold, black, and transparent creamy white. Here are some shots of the printing process.....

Prints get hung on this line to dry.....
By the time the line is full the first prints that were hung up are dry enough to take of the line five or six at a time and stack on this shelf face down so they don't warp. Meanwhile, printing can continue starting back at the beginning of the line as the prints are removed......
Second color down....
Third color down. Metallic gold. It looks really weird in all the photos I took. It's not as yellow/orange in person and much more shiny....
Fourth color down....

Predator, Total Recall, Conan The Barbarian triple feature
A friend of mine has been setting up monthly 35mm movie nights at The Palace Theatre. Each night has a theme. There is a bar open for those that drink and the film series is known as the Brew & View film series. It's been pretty damn successful so far! And after the cost of renting the 35mm film prints is covered the Palace gets half the money and the other half is donated to the Golisano Childrens Hospital. Great movies, great cause! Mike Tommyrot and I have been doing artwork for posters and I've been screen printing them. I did the art for this one. I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's five colors one of which is a really cool metallic silver, on olive green paper. I did almost all the artwork on my Wacom tablet and scanned in some hand drawn pencil texturing as well. This is the first time I've used the Wacom to almost entirely create something.

"Run For Your Life!" ZOMBIE 5K t-shirt design
Well, I think I'm finished with the design for the front of the "Run For Your Life!" ZOMBIE 5K run that we are putting on in conjunction with the Shaun Luu Horror Fest. All money raised from the 5k run/skate/1 mile zombie walk will be donated to Golisano Childrens Hospital and The American Cancer Society to support brain cancer research and treatment along with all the proceeds from the horror fest. Everyone participating in the run/walk will get one of these t-shirts. I'm going to start printing them after work tomorrow. I have a few very long days and nights ahead of me to get the fronts and backs of these shirts printed in time for the event on Saturday! I'm almost done with the design/sponsor list for the back of the shirts. I dont think I've been this stressed out and tired....ever, actually. But it's something that is for a good cause and in memory of a really great guy that I really miss having around. Cancer can suck it!

Shaun Luu Horror Fest color #4
My girlfriend and I finished up the printing on the posters last night! I ran into a couple of minor snags with the last color but I was able to work it out. They look pretty awesome if I do say so myself!
Before....
After....
The last thing I have to do is trim the extra paper on the right hand side. I'm pretty stoked with how these turned out. Not bad for the first poster I've printed in years!

2008 Shaun Luu Horror Fest posters
I started printing the posters for the fourth annual Shaun Luu Horror Fest the other night with the help of my beautiful assistant/girlfriend. They are going to be four color posters on 100 pound French cover stock recycled Speckletone paper. They measure 16" x 25." These are the first posters I've printed in a few years and they are definitely the largest things I've ever printed.
They're looking pretty nice so far. I've been taking some pictures of the progress. Here are some shots from printing the first color....check it out.....
The extra space on the right of the print will be trimmed off at the end of the print run. I just left some paper for registration marks.
